A memorial service will take place on June 2nd at 2 p.m. at the Adas Israel Congregation, 2850 Quebec St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20008 (near the corner of Connecticut Ave. and Porter Sts., N.W.) for local attorney and friend of many, Sol Zalel Rosen.
Sol passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2015 after a history of heart disease. He was a long time single practitioner in D.C. and one of the first to take cases under the Criminal Justice Act.
He graduated from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, undergraduate, and the Columbia University School of Law, New York, New York for his J.D in 1960. He was a veteran, honorably discharged. He handled thousands of criminal cases in his career. He was 79 years old. He is survived by his sister, Gloria Aronoff, of Boca Raton, Florida and his nephew Lewis Weinger of Tekoa, Israel.
