The DWLR Legal Notice Republication Policy

November 14, 2017

Reposted from August 2013.

Effective immediately our policy regarding the reprinting/republication of probate notices will change to include the following:

• If a legal notice reruns because of an error caused by the attorney, the personal representative or the second newspaper used in publication, the person placing the notice will be billed for both the original publication and the reprint. An affidavit will not be released until the balance for both publications are paid in full.

• If a legal notice reruns because of an error caused by the probate division, the person placing the notice will only be billed for the republication. This does not include republication due to the omission of information on the form sent to us by the probate division. It is the responsibility of the person placing the notice to ensure that the form is filled out completely and correctly.

• If a legal notice reruns because of an error caused by the DWLR, the person placing the notice will not be billed by us for either the original publication or the reprint.
