One of the longest and most prolific professional careers in the history of the District of Columbia concluded in November, 2007 with the retirement of our longtime Legal Editor Michael A. Schuchat. During a 51-year career, he reviewed an estimated 40,000 written opinions and wrote headnotes for nearly 35,000 of them from every major court in the nation’s capital. It is a staggering work product to behold. Having read and digested that much case law he was undoubtedly a repository of legal knowledge that rivals, or exceeds, that of any appellate judge, anywhere.
The DWLR would like to extend a hearty welcome to our new Legal Editor,
David F. O'Brien, Esq. For many DWLR readers, Mr. O'Brien's is a
familiar name as he is both a former and now current member of the DWLR
team, having left us to attend law school at Case Western Reserve, where
he served as the Symposium Editor for the Case Western Reserve Journal
of International Law. Upon his graduation, Mr. O'Brien has returned to
our area and will serve as our new Legal Editor. He can be reached at
email@example.com and welcomes submissions of court opinions that should
be covered in our pages.
Please note, on the following days, the DWLR will not publish a newspaper:
