Printed Public Notices provide an important way for the public to access accurate and verifiable information about government activities. The DWLR serves citizens of the District of Columbia with public notice information on a variety of topics, including Trustee Sales (foreclosures), Probate, Name Changes, Adoptions, Divorces, Annual Reports, Libels of Information and more. Our daily newspaper can be found and accessed by the public in libraries around town (and many law school libraries across the country).
The Daily Washington Law Reporter has developed online archives for subscribers to search legal notices that the DWLR has published. These daily issues go back to 1991 with a new issue being added each day.
To search for a specific legal notice, it would be best to know the first date of publication and use that as your search criteria. If you do not know this information, you can contact the Probate Division of the D.C. Superior Court or search the Online Docket (at www.dccourts.gov and then click on the Court Cases Online link) and they can provide you with this information.

P.S. Our legal notices win awards from the National Newspaper Association!
